Leon Vist Benjaminsen represents Norway in slopestyle and big air and is part of the Norwegian Junior National Freeski Team. Growing up, he developed his skills and passion for skiing in Vassfjellet and Åre. Today, he combines skiing with school at WANG Elite Sports Academy in Lørenskog, Norway.

Chasing big dreams

Leon has already earned a bronze medal in rail at the Junior World Championships, one gold and three silver medals at the Norwegian Junior Championships, and two bronze medals at the Norwegian National Championships in the FIS category.

“Ever since I realized that skiing was more than just something I loved doing, and that I actually had some talent for it, I’ve kept pushing myself and setting new goals. A few years ago, I set myself a pretty big dream: to compete in the World Cup, represent Norway at the Olympics, and one day ride in the X Games. I know it takes a lot of hard work to get there, but I’m all in!”

Never forget to have fun

“Even though I’ve got big goals and work hard to reach them, I think it’s super important to enjoy the ride. Skiing is honestly the most fun thing I know! I’ve never really felt like I’m training: I’m just out there doing what I love.

For me, freeski is all about having fun, pushing your limits, being creative and sharing good times with awesome people. So have fun, be kind, try new tricks, and never forget why you started skiing in the first place. And of course, find your own style, wear what makes you feel good, and just BE BUSI!”
